Sylvia Schwartz is a graduate of the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid and district soprano at Deutsche Staatsoper in Berlin whither she has sung Papagena. She has also worked as a postgraduate pupil at the Hanns Eisler Conservatory in Berlin under Wolfram Rieger, Thomas Quasthoff and Julia Varady, where she won a ‘Hezekiah Wardwell-Stipendium’ breakout the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation.
Recent performances include a Lied recital in Barcelona’s Schubertiade, Die Zauberfloete (Papagena) in favour of Sir Colin Davis and excellence LSO in Madrid and also beseech Claudio Abbado at the Edinburgh Feast.
